PENERAPAN STRATEGI DIRECT READING THINKING ACTIVITY (DRTA) UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN SISWA KELAS VB SD NEGERI 45 PEKANBARU

Abstract


This research is motivated by not being skilled in understanding the contents of the story in a text. This can be seen based on the number of students who have not yet reached the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) set by the school which is 76. This study aims to determine: Whether the application of the Direct Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) strategy can improve reading comprehension skills of students in grade Vb SDN 45 Pekanbaru ? This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). Based on observations that have been analyzed, it can be concluded that the Direct Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) Strategy can improve reading skills in students' understanding of grade Vb SD Negeri 45 Pekanbaru. The increase starts from the initial data which only has an average completeness of 35.48% then an increase in Cycle I of 16.13% to 51.61%. Then there was a significant increase again in Cycle II by 51.61% to 100% in Cycle II. The second cycle of learning is achieved with a very significant improvement. Based on the results of research conducted it appears that the more often the Direct Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) Strategy is applied, the better the results obtained. Thus, it can be concluded that the Direct Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) Strategy improves the reading comprehension skills of Vb grade students of SD Negeri 45 Pekanbaru.
